The St. Louis Ska Fest NEWS! _
Untitled Document Next Show: July 28th "St. Louis Ska Fest 6:Skank for a Cause" @ the Creepy Crawl, 4:45pm, $9/$11

FAREWELL

I announce with great sadness that May 10th, 2008 marks the date of the St. Louis Ska Fest officially retiring from the St. Louis ska music scene. Plans were being considered months ago but there was never a final decision until just recently.

It was a blast having every single one of you be a part of this event, and it couldn't have been done without all of your help. There's so many memories that I'll be taking with me from these shows and it's been incredible meeting and getting to know so many of you. The bands, the fans, the Creepy Crawl, Ska's the Limit with Paul Stark, RFT, and so much more were all a huge help to the St. Louis Ska Fest's growth within St. Louis.

I truly hope the St. Louis Ska Fest brought more fans and bands into the St. Louis ska scene to help keep it running year after year. It's been a fantastic 4 years, and I'm really going to miss it.

Take care everyone, and seriously - keep on skankin.
Erik Kerr

Thanks to everyone who came out to the show last night! It was awesome! We were able to donate a little over $150 to the Children's Hunger Fund! Thanks to every single one of you who went to the show, as you were part of the $150 that were donated! And of course, a HUGE thanks to the bands that were willing to play for free and donate all of their ticket sales to the Children's Hunger Fund as well.

I'll be updating the site during this next week with pictures, bands, and all that jazz so stay tuned. Keep it rude!

Remember: 100% of profits are going to the Children's Hunger Fund this year! Check them out at www.childrenshungerfund.org or check out some cool stats below. This organization is great!

  • CHF only uses 1/2 of 1% of revenue for administration costs (99.6% of total revenue goes directly to the care of needy children).
  • To date, over 10 million children (in 70 countries) have received more than $600 million dollars in aide from CHF.
  • CHF was ranked #1 charity (out of 453) by ministrywatch.org.
  • CHF is the only charity in America to receive a "100%" rating in all three grading categories from Forbes Magazine.
Please - be a part of the St. Louis Ska Fest this year and be a part of something totally awesome! Join the fight against hunger and poverty and help millions!

Keep it rude,
Erik

Attention!! Ska Fest 6 NEEDS A HOME! We have to find somewhere cheap to play this year that can house a whole skankin load of awesome ska bands!! Indoor, outdoor, whatever!! We can't make a set date until we find a place! If you have any ideas, PLEASE shoot me an email!

Also, the St. Louis Ska Fest still DESPARATELY needs sponsors. The more money we can get from sponsors to support the cost of the show, the more money we can have directly given to the Children's Hunger Fund. Let me know if you know of anyone who would like to sponsor - or if you yourself would like to sponsor!
